As usual my apologies for the lack of updates - but I've not had much free time recently (I've had a lot on at work and personally...) and what spare time I have had I've wasted / invested in Countersrike Source... Anyway, didn't really have time for the planned update, but I have thrown a load more stuff up onto the Puzzle Bobble page - 40 or 50 files actually. So get downloading - back soon!

Been really busy with a few things over the last couple of weeks, so I've really not had the time to do much. Having said that I've put up the Puzzle Bobble page. Its very WIP, but theres some arcade flyers up there fo you to grab, hopefully I'll be able to sort and add a few more bits and pieces over the next few days.

I rescanned the C64 Bubble Bobble artwork today, so why not grab the cover, instructions page 1, and page 2 whilst you're here. I'll rescan the remainder of the Bubble Bobble media that I have to a high quality as soon as I can find it - I know its in a box somewhere, I'm just not sure which box :)

I've also started work on one of the other game pages (currently only the Bubble Bobble page is completed). This new page should hopefully be done & included shortly. I'll leave you guessing as to which one for now!

OK, we've tried a few hosts now and 110mb.com seems to be the most stable and by far the quickest so we'll settle here. I've pulled down all the other site mirrors so this should be it now.

Site History

Whilst it had been around under a few guises for around a year before then, Bubble Bobble HQ was born in mid 1998. We lived on free 'Prohosting' servers which served us well, although limited to 10mb. We never made any real traffic - accumulating 23000 index page hits during our time there (around 2 years). The site looked like this during that time.

In 2000 we were offered free unlimited hosting as part of the ''Overclocked' site (itself hosted as part of 'ztnet'). This gave us the bandwidth we needed to expand the site and grow to eventually around 80mb of data. Shortly after moving to Overclocked the sites design was updated to this and traffic increased, making around a million index page hits during our time there. Type Bubble Bobble or any other related game phrase into any search engine and we were number one of the results list. In late 2006 the Overclocked domain died, and so did our hosting, our hard earned search engine rankings and everything else but the forum - which lives on here.

After this there was a dark time... An internet without a Bubble Bobble HQ for 3 months - after 8 years of it always being there. Until now... A new, leaner, tidier, more mature Bubble Bobble HQ is here for your pleasure. Maybe the glory days are gone, maybe we're past it... Or maybe not...
